Air castle, water world and dragon cave –
Movement with imagination for ALL
Young mothers and carers often experience isolation and cultural barriers. Our project creates new artistic spaces for movement for children and their carers. A movement tour at Nilpferdplatz in the John-Locke Siedlung invites you to discover.
Supported by four choreographers/dance mediators from AG Tanz und Elternschaft in cooperation with architect Lara Stöhlmacher and the neighborhood center in the ufa Fabrik, the project combines art, movement and participation.
Public spaces are often consumer-oriented and creative activities are usually limited to children. We are expanding this approach and actively involving carers.
The large square is located in the middle of a large housing estate. Here we are creating an offer for a broad audience: cross-generational, low-threshold and without registration or admission.
In summer 2025, we will work on site and develop a modular architecture made from simple materials such as fabrics, ropes, foam and wood. The focus is on safety and accessibility. The resulting structure will be opened to the public on June 14 and 15 and invites interaction: walk through it, balance, touch, feel, experience new body perceptions. The experienced team of dance mediators will accompany the participants, overcome language barriers and make cultural participation a tangible experience for everyone.
“Air castle, water world and dragon’s cave” creates imaginative movement landscapes with fairytale references – a place of encounter, movement and creativity for everyone.
